A caring foreign policy for Gaza
The United States has a duty to care for us, its people, and peers across the globe. I am committed to that caring vision. I was happy to see the New York Times video interview of actor Mandy Patinkin, famous for his role as Inigo Montoya in The Princess Bride. Promoting a caring foreign policy in Gaza, Patinkin spoke out passionately against the genocide.
Millions have moral outrage against the cruel wing’s US foreign policy.
I identified with Patinkin’s moral outrage. There is so much horror occurring in our communities and in our world today that I am finding it difficult to function. I'm trying desperately to keep my spirits up, but it's proving difficult. Mandy Patinkin was visibly choked with rage during the interview, and I felt that rage within myself. The US's cruel wing is funding this genocide. That my tax dollars are going towards state-sponsored murder angers me. I join millions who share Patinkin’s rage.
The Palestinian genocide by cruel wing US policy
The Palestinian people have been experiencing oppression since 1948, and now the genocide has been ongoing for two years. It is too late for so many people–children, mothers, fathers, everyday individuals who have begged for their lives to be spared. Cruel wing US policies have betrayed us time and time again. I, and many other advocates, are running on rage, but it is not sustainable, and it doesn’t feel good to be angry all the time. I’m worried for the Earth’s people, because we all are suffering from billionaire greed-driven fear.
Channel your anger to build a caring society.
Yale Historian Timothy Snyder ended his book On Tyranny with this call to action, “Be as courageous as you can.” Today, I am grateful for the courage of the Grody-Patinkin Family. I hope that sharing my experience helps others in my generation who feel angry and afraid feel less alone, and that it strengthens and empowers them. Thank you, Chloe. I am so priviledged to know you!
